Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that challenges conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of banned practices and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The narrative features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Material
Players who accomplish the adventure will obtain an special katana alongside multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Content
This update also adds the game's latest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
